YIN Viennoiserie

Yin’s pastries are genuinely delightful — light, delicate, and beautifully layered without that heavy, buttery crash some viennoiserie can have. Each one felt intentional: crisp layers, silky fillings, and a clean finish that keeps you going back for another bite.
We originally bought two to eat there and two to take away, but honestly… we didn’t stand a chance. They were so light and moreish that we ended up eating all four on the spot. No regrets, just crumbs.
But the service didn’t quite match the pastries.
The staff felt unfriendly and a bit closed‑off, which stands out in a boutique bakery where warmth usually elevates the whole experience. When I asked about a toilet, it was a blunt no — no alternatives, no effort to help. The funny part? The optical store next door immediately handed me the complex key so I could use the facilities. A tiny gesture, but it said a lot about who actually cared.
🍰 TwoForksDecide Summary
Light, elegant pastries with gorgeous layering — dangerously easy to keep eating — absolutely worth trying. But with service that cold, it’s not a place we’d go out of our way for. If we’re already in the area, sure… but there’s plenty more to explore in Sydney’s pastry scene.
